I am a Visual Arts student at university. This career is something that I've always wanted to study, but I made myself high expectations, and when I came in it was all different.
The curriculum of the study programme is about learning the main skills of arts. The subjects that I have to study are Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Drawing Class, Aesthetic and Art History. And the workload of the career and the subjects is very hard and often bored, but sometimes you can have a pleaseant experience. The length of studies is large, because sometimes you have to stay all day making pieces of art.
The faculty facilities are awful, the buildings are a disaster and infrastructure as well. The conditions are unworthy, there is asbestos roof and the structure is flimsy, everything is messy around and is not a beautiful place at all. If is something that I really want to change, I would change the whole infrastructure and the workrooms. Th use of technology is scarse, because the study programme is very old fashion, and there isn't subject as Digital Art.
And the last thing that I want to talk about is Teaching methods. The teachers of the school are very goood artist, but the problem is that many of them are not real teachers, because they don't have a pedagogical preparation, and that thing makes that a lot of student can't understand the subject that they are studying. I would like to change that, I want teachers that would have better methods to teach.
